DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY: Engineering JOB TYPE: Non-Management REPORTS TO: Plant Engineering Manager LOCATION: Stuarts Draft, Virginia PERFORMANCE SUMMARY: Located in the Stuarts Draft, VA Engineering group, this position reports to the Plant Engineering Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation of automation systems, new products, and process improvements. This individual will support program team members and customers to ensure that goals and objectives are met through effective involvement, contribution and coordination. RESPONSIBILITIES: •Support existing and incoming manufacturing equipment. •Maintain technical integrity of the product by sound applications of engineering/mechanical design principles, creation of engineering/design specifications, and material selection. •Openly communicate project status and issues. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: •Minimum 5 years of manufacturing process controls engineering •Experience with robotic controls and vision automation preferred •Experience with ABB, Keyence, Balluff, Delta all preferred •Corporate engineering interface •New product introduction EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, or similar degree. SKILLS REQUIRED: •Solid proficiency of electrical automation control systems. (Servo, motion, PLC, HMI, etc.) •Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems to maintain uptime or make improvements. •Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers. •Ability to read, analyze and interpret general engineering drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. •Ability to work independently or in a project team environment and within a defined deadline. •Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. TRAVEL: This position may require overnight travel approximately 5% of the time.
