Business Excellence Awards

It’s time to celebrate business in the Greater Augusta Region!!

The nomination period for the 2019 Business Excellence Awards is now open! The Chamber will be recognizing businesses and individuals who have had a significant impact on our community during the past year. Criteria for the awards include business performance, innovative practices, revenue and job growth, employee development, new programs, civic involvement, and leadership. The winners of each award will be presented at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Business Excellence Awards on March 21, 2019 at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center. Nominations should be made based on criteria listed under each category. Winners will be selected by an awards selection committee after review of each entry. Only completed nomination forms will be reviewed. All recognized businesses must be current members of the Chamber, in good standing. Nominations will not be considered for businesses that have within the last three years received the award for which they are being nominated. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.

2019 Award Categories and Criteria

 

 

Small Business Excellence Award
  • Business with 50 or fewer employees, located in the Greater Augusta Region
  • Growth through revenue and creation of jobs
  • Innovative products and services
  • Active in community service
  • Sound or innovative business practices
  • Excellent customer service
 
Large Business Excellence Award
  • Business with 51 or more employees, located in the Greater Augusta Region
  • Significant contributions to the economic health of the community through revenue growth and creation of jobs
  • Innovative products and services
  • Ongoing support and development of employees
  • A commitment to collaboration and community service
  • Sound or innovative business practices
 
Woman-Owned Business Excellence Award
  • Must be at least 51-percent owned by one or more women, located in the Greater Augusta Region
  • Management and daily business operations must be controlled by one or more women
  • Innovative products and services
  • Active in community service
  • Sound or innovative business practices
  • Excellent customer service
 
Non-Profit Excellence Award
  • 501(c)3 recognized organization serving the Greater Augusta Region
  • Demonstrated excellence in non-profit business management practices and resource development
  • Growth in the number of programs, networks, partnerships, collaborations and services that demonstrate community impact
  • Steady growth in clients served
 
Young Professional Award
  • 40 years of age or younger as of February 1, 2019
  • Lives and works in the Greater Augusta Region
  • Initiative in seeking and fulfilling leadership roles throughout the community
  • Professionalism in their field of work
  • Vision and passion to mentor and lead others
  • Has achieved success while overcoming obstacles, to become one of tomorrow’s top business leaders
 
Business Leadership Award
  • Longtime business leader in the Greater Augusta Region that exhibits strength in character, resolve and a commitment to the community and exemplary success in the regional business community
  • Involved in growing the community through their vision and leadership
  • Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism that results in civic, social or economic improvement of the community that lasts over a period of time
  • Displays high ethical and personal integrity
